What are Gallstones?
Gallstones are solid materials formed inside the gallbladder. Gallstones are solid deposits of digestive fluid, causing the gallbladder not to empty properly. They can vary in size right from a minute grain of sand to a large golf ball. The inflamed and/or infected gallbladder is known as cholecystitis. A simple infection can be treated with antibiotics but the continuous formation of gallstones requires laparoscopic gallstone surgery.
